Where is your Restore Point?

Posted on Dec 16th, 2008 by Bryan : Metatelepath, Medical Intuitive, Me Bryan
Many of us know what this is and what it is for. We usually discover it after having downloaded something or being the recipient of an automatic update or download  that someone else thought we needed.

Then our computer acts up and there is lots of trouble.

One of the quick and reliable remedies we have to un-do this is called a system restore, where hopefully there is some point on your hard drive that represents "the way we were," when life was running pretty smoothly.

For some, in life,  a restore point can be a point in time when we felt safe, or a restore point can be a memory that brings joy or the feeling of being grounded. For some a restore point is a vantage point, a perspective through a significant experience that seems to bring clarity to any other situation that "shakes up our day-to-day normal life."

Computers are designed to set restore points on their own, so that one exists whenever we need to go back to earlier settings. We can also choose our own restore points and perform back ups too.

When it comes to life and its complications, it is our individual responsibility to store or 'save'  these sacred places, points, and memories aside, not as a place to escape and go into denial, but as an excellent point of reference in order to get some much needed grounding.

Be sure to look around and notice those times in life when things seem clear and your focus feels strong, so there is a place and perspective to which you can return, when life seems really uncertain and out of control.

Bryan,

I remember once, soaking up cool mountain air, before descending into the desert in summer. When I got really hot, I could go back to that cool comfort in mind.

I need to soak up those moments as you suggest, “when things seem clear and my focus strong”, so that when all goes chaotic and I feel out of sync, there is a reference point to stablize briefly, if only in the knowledge that the swirling in the vortex will pass and the calm after the storm is assured.

Thank you -

Deborah

This is an excellent suggestion, Bryan.

Working with NLP to assist people to make changes in their lives, part ofseveral different techniques we use is to have people refer back to a memory of when they were at their best, or something great happened to them. It is surprising how difficult it is for some people to find those points in memory. Sometimes it takes running a slow timeline backward several decades to get to that point.

It isn’t so much that they haven’t had the experiences, but rather that they haven’t made enough connections, mostly through positive emotion, to make it easier for their subconscious minds to find the needed episodes. So, if more people did what you have suggested, they’d have more of those “set points” for grounding into when they want to make a positive change in their lives.

I think this is extremely helpful, Bryan, something we all need.

Great thinking, Bryan. Yes, a restore point would be a great do-over. Gem, I’ve had those experiences too; with people who haven’t anything they can remember to inspire them.

Hello, All. Great wisdom here. I wrote this piece, because I woke up one day not feeling inside my own skin. I thought about how I felt and began writing.

I actually wrote another blog in continuation, because I am inspiredby what you all have said here.
